Cottage Core Outfits

Cottage core might be a Gen Z TikTok trend right now but some of us have been wearing cottage core outfits for years. In fact, country ladies probably know this trend better than anyone else. Think loose fitting blouses, country animal prints, tweed, and neutral and pastel shades, a feminine look that suits everyone.

Any cottage core outfit needs a splash of tweed, whether it’s a fitted skirt or an oversized poncho in the winter. You could even wear both together as a more formal outfit for race days and outdoor weddings. A tweed skirt on its own always gives off posh country lady vibes but it’s a more versatile item than you might think. Whilst we wouldn’t dress it down completely with sneakers, you can definitely pair it with a crisp white T-shirt and loafers for a casual cottage core outfit. To dress it up, pair with a fitted printed blouse and knee high leather boots. 

If you don’t have a printed blouse or shirt in your wardrobe, you need to add one in. Whether it’s a fitted collared style or a loose-fitting flowy blouse, there’s a shirt or blouse for every lady. If you’re going for a fitted style, make sure that it’s not too tight. For those with a larger bust, you might want to size up so you don’t feel too restricted. With flowy blouses, you can buy your regular size, whether it’s sleeveless, short sleeved or long sleeved. 

Cottage core outfits aren’t complete without footwear. To keep it classic, a pair of leather, knee-high boots go with just about every outfit.
