With the rise in flexible working and job sharing, lots of us now work from home on a part-time or full-time basis. However, home working doesn’t have to mean not getting dressed at all and simply rolling to your desk or dining table. Getting dressed can put you into work mode, but you can still stay comfy and put-together. Here’s a selection of items to make your work from home outfits.
On days when you don’t have meetings, comfort is key. Sweatshirts are the perfect in-between piece for comfort and style. On colder days, layer a T-shirt, thermal, or polo shirt underneath for extra warmth. A sweatshirt in a bright colour also brings out your personality and provides another layer of comfort. The half-zip styles are very on-trend but also classic in style.
If you do have a meeting, switch your comfies for a collared shirt to show you mean business on your top half at least! Whether it’s a country pattern or a classic checked design, we always have a selection of them in our office wear wardrobe. On colder days, layer a fleece over the top with a leather trim to still look professional.
Working from home does mean comfort, and sometimes, you just need the ultimate comfort day: working in your pyjamas! Maybe choose a day with a lighter workload and definitely no meetings though. Cosy brushed cotton pyjamas just give that more luxurious feeling, and the button-up style shirt feels a little dressier. Just don’t forget to change if you plan on leaving the house.
When it comes to footwear for work from home outfits, don’t overlook your slippers. Whilst many say to wear shoes, wearing shoes indoors just feels wrong to us! Why not stay as comfy as possible with faux fur-lined tweed or suede slippers? Loungewear has never looked so good!
